Logo for a publishing company focused on making connections

Connecting the Inside to the Outside
No
I am a small start-up company hoping to help the technologically disadvantaged, providing requested information in a print format. Like a hyphen, I want to make connections for those who otherwise can't.

As this will need to be printed, and possibly printed rather small, the clearer the design, the better.
The styles and colors highlighted are flexible; the current color pallet for the website we are designing is mainly #262F34 and #5A394A, with #837185 and #CAD4D9 accents. The design needs to transfer to black and white printing, however. Including the tagline is optional, but having the ability to include it would be a plus.
While the idea of a "hyphen" is important, it doesn't present the most unique form to work with; feel free to step outside the rectangle. Being literal with "hyphen" or "connection" isn't necessary.
I am fond of symbols/images, but I'm not married to any of the following:
- dark/rich shades of purple
- teal and/or silver accents
- chess knight(s)
- the god Ganesh and/or his axe (removing obstacles)
- a mouse (animal)
- Sailor Moon aesthetics (just throwing it out there (manga/90s = good; Crystal = nah))
- planetary symbol for Saturn
Again, this is just a smattering of things I like and aren't necessary to be part of the design. I don't want to over-complicate; I trust your ability to edit down my nebulous ideas.
