Creative Brief

Podcast Album Cover

The Raft-Up

Yes

We are a couple who are sailing around the world on our boat. We have a podcast where we interview people we meet on our sailing travels. We need a new logo/album cover for a podcast. The podcasts is called “The Raft-Up”. A “Raft-Up” is a nautical term for when two or more boats tie themselves together and have a party!

It is a fun podcast with a nautical theme (boats, sailing, fishing, drinking beers etc) as well as global travel. We want it to be obvious that’s the album cover/logo is for a podcast but we also want it to portray feelings of the boating, socialising, travel and adventure.

As an example the cover/logo could include the following visuals:

Microphones, nautical themes such as a boat, anchors or sails etc.

Our main listeners are people who work a boring office job and dream of spending their life sailing and exploring the world by boat. The album cover/logo should therefore portray a sense of adventure, sun and fun. It should feel like a holiday!

not sure

We want it to be obvious that this is a podcast logo so something like a studio microphone would be good. Additionally it has a nautical travel theme so other nautical images such as an anchor or a boat might work well. We also want it to create a sense of holiday and adventure. I chose the colours yellow, green and blue as to me they represent sun and the ocean.

Traditionally a “Raft-up” is where people tie their boats together and have a party. It could be cool to include some beer glasses, or beer bottles if possible. We want it to feel social and fun.
