The logo should convey the premium end of design engineering services and the strong use of Computer Aided Design in arriving at optimal design solutions. The significance of the X, is the multi disciplinary nature of the business. Active sectors include Oil and Gas, Mining, Marine, Water, Defence, Medical, Aerospace, Automotive, although Oil, Gas, Water and Mining a predominant at the moment. Training and innovation are also key strengths.
I intend to develop a website that reflects the breadth of expertise, thus the Logo needs to reflect the intellectual strength of the business rather than the breadth of the sector.

I would like to use a configuration of DFX in lower case or capital or a mixture as a part of the logo.
My current clients are intrigued as to why the business id called Design for X. When I explain the breadth of expertise, the passion associated with working in multiple sectors and the X really means anything they both remember the name and express what a good name it is, as the brand develops Design for x maybe be fully replaced by DFX.
Also design for x is an engineering discipline that applies many cost reduction and optimisation strategies for reducing cost improving quality and generally assisting the development of world class designs.
